Finnish weaving for bath and sauna — bathrobes from their own mill.
“Lapuan Kankurit” simply means “the weavers of Lapua.” In that small town in western Finland the Hjelt family has woven for generations — the roots reach back to 1917 — and to this day everything is made in their own mill, from yarn to finished cloth. For bath and sauna, that means bathrobes and towels in natural fibers — Nordic wool, washed European linen — soft, long-lasting, honestly made, often designed with young designers. As they put it: “We make our products — not somebody somewhere.”
Lapuan Kankurit weaves in its own mill in Finland, uses OEKO-TEX-certified materials, only mulesing-free wool, and traceable European linen (“Masters of Linen”) — natural fibers made to last and fully biodegradable.
